The Real Amnesia represents one of the most iconic cannabis genetics originating from the Netherlands. For many years, Amnesia has been a cornerstone strain in Dutch coffeeshops, famous for its strong citrus haze aroma and powerful uplifting effects.

Many Amnesia seeds available on the market today are actually crosses that include White Widow genetics, which were introduced to stabilize the strain. While these hybrids provide stable growth, they often lose the original character of the legendary Amnesia clone. The goal of this project was to recreate a seed version that captures the authentic flavor, aroma, and growth characteristics of the original Dutch clone without introducing White Widow genetics.

Authentic Dutch Amnesia Genetics

After more than one and a half years of careful breeding work, the developers succeeded in creating a stable seed line derived directly from the original Amnesia clone. The result is a strain that closely reflects the famous Dutch coffeeshop classic.

The plants develop a typical sativa structure with vigorous growth and elongated flower formations. During the flowering stage, dense buds appear that are covered in a thick layer of sparkling trichomes.

This variety is especially appealing to growers and enthusiasts who appreciate classic haze genetics and want to experience the true aroma and energetic effects associated with the original Amnesia.

Terpene Profile – Lemon Haze Character

The aroma of The Real Amnesia is intense and immediately recognizable. Breaking open the buds releases strong lemon notes combined with spicy haze characteristics and subtle earthy undertones.

The dominant terpene Limonene provides the bright citrus fragrance, while Terpinolene contributes the classic haze aroma. Myrcene and Caryophyllene add depth and complexity to the overall terpene profile.

Together, these terpenes create a fresh, vibrant aromatic profile that strongly reflects the traditional Dutch Amnesia strains.

Effects – Energetic and Inspiring

With THC levels around 24–26%, The Real Amnesia delivers a powerful sativa-dominant experience. The effects usually begin with an uplifting cerebral rush that enhances mood and stimulates creative thinking.

Many users report increased focus, motivation, and inspiration, making this strain particularly suitable for daytime activities, creative projects, or social conversations.

While the mental stimulation is strong, the body still experiences a light relaxing effect without becoming overly sedated.

Growth Characteristics

The Real Amnesia displays the classic growth pattern associated with sativa genetics. The plants grow vigorously and develop strong structures that perform well in both indoor and outdoor environments.

The typical flowering time is around 9 weeks. During this stage, the plants develop elongated, resin-rich buds that release a strong citrus haze aroma.

This strain also adapts well to different climates and can tolerate both warm and cooler growing conditions.

Conclusion

The Real Amnesia pays tribute to the legendary Dutch haze genetics and brings the authentic Amnesia character back into seed form. Its powerful lemon haze aroma, high THC levels, and uplifting effects make it a favorite among lovers of classic sativa strains.

For growers and consumers seeking a true coffeeshop-style Amnesia experience, The Real Amnesia stands out as a remarkable modern interpretation of this iconic cannabis lineage.
