Seed germination is the first and most critical stage in plant cultivation. Providing the right temperature, humidity and moisture levels is essential to ensure successful and healthy germination.

At Grow Island, we offer everything needed for seamless and effective germination:
- Germination trays and propagators – To maintain optimal humidity levels
- Jiffy peat pellets and coco coir plugs – Excellent moisture retention and rapid root growth
- Temperature and humidity controllers – For precise climate control
- Soil heating cables and heating mats – Ensuring stable temperatures for faster germination

For cannabis seed germination, only water, air, and warmth are needed. Seeds typically germinate within 2-7 days at 21-30°C, while temperatures above 31°C can negatively impact germination. The process begins when the seed shell cracks, revealing the first tiny root, followed by the development of two cotyledon leaves reaching toward the light.

Overwatering is the most common germination issue, as it reduces oxygen availability and can lead to seed failure. The growing medium should be moist but not soaked and excess water must drain easily. For Rockwool germination, misting or drop-by-drop watering is best, only when the top 3 mm has dried.

With proper germination techniques, you can increase germination success rates, promote strong root growth and ensure healthy plant development.
